On July 3,, the "US General Cairo" ship berthed at the Dalian Port Container Terminal for loading and unloading operations, marking the official opening of the Vietnam-Thailand line jointly operated by Dafei Ships and other companies at Dalian Port. So far, Dalian Port of Liaoning Port Group has opened 3 foreign trade container liner routes this year, and the total number of foreign trade container routes at Dalian Port has reached 88.

With the increasing trade between China and ASEAN countries, Liaoning Port Group has continuously increased the development of Southeast Asian route business, combined with ASEAN countries' trade development and regional industrial demand, and cooperated with shipping companies to open a new Southeast Asian container route. The opening of this route provides a new logistics channel choice for the import and export trade of Northeast China and Southeast Asian countries.

4 2500TEU (container count) ships will be put into this route, one shift every 7 days. Among them, imports are mainly bananas and other refrigerated goods, while exports are linked to ports such as Linchaban in Thailand and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Export goods include chemical products, minerals, metal products and other sources.

On the morning of the same day, the first ship of the route, the "US General Cairo", berthed at the Dalian Container Terminal at Berth 12 on time. After completing the unloading of bananas and other refrigerated cargo, it was loaded with chemicals from the northeast hinterland and other cargo. It was planned to go to Vietnam and Thailand that night.

In recent years, Vietnamese and Thai fruits have been widely welcomed by domestic consumers for their low price and good quality. The opening and operation of the Vietnam-Thailand Line of Liaoning Port Group has enabled all kinds of imported fruits from Southeast Asia to reach Dalian in less than 15 days. In addition, the opening of the route will also effectively solve the northeast region for Vietnam-Thailand and other major trade areas of the shortage of direct shipping space short board, to help the northeast hinterland supply stable shipment.

Liaoning Port Group said that in the future, Dalian Port will continue to optimize the port route network layout, actively develop foreign trade container business for Southeast Asia and other RCEP countries, and help the northeast old industrial base turn to the sea.
