Following the establishment of new shipping companies by German retailer LIDL, British freight forwarding Allseas Global Logistics, Uniserve and Italian freight forwarding Rifline, a German container leasing company Lotus Containers recently joined them and announced the establishment of a shipping company.

it is reported that the newly established shipping company is called Carrier53 'Shipping GmbH. Lotus Containers, established in 2008, reported that it has established its core competitiveness in container sales, leasing and procurement, as well as arranging transportation and special projects. Now it has formally established a unique new shipping company to expand this experience.

Lotus describes the new shipping company as a completely independent ship operating public carrier. The shipping company will launch new services this month, mainly focusing on the trans-Pacific route between China and the west coast of the United States.

Its new service will deploy six owned or chartered general purpose cargo ships, each with a capacity of about 700TEU, and will use 53-foot containers.

The company said in its release materials: "With our own and leased multi-purpose fleet and a global network of professional agents, we will provide flexible solutions outside of regular liner routes."

Carrier53 'will provide sailing services from China's Qingdao, Taicang and Humen to Portland and Los Angeles, as well as special sailing from Hamburg to Mexico in September and October.

The company said it will provide services including "pre-transportation, post-transportation, door-to-door service, U.S. inland transportation, etc. Carrier53 'provides customized one-stop solutions."

Last month, U.S. multimodal transport and integrated logistics provider J. B. Hunt rented two container ships and started a similar shipping business to Carrier53 ', providing navigation services between China and California and Pacific Northwest ports.

earlier this year, FedEx also launched a similar service, renting Genco bulk carriers to transport containers from China to California. In addition, freight forwarding companies Allseas, Uniserve and Rifline have also set up shipping companies to launch direct routes from China to the UK/Europe and liner services from China to the UK and Italy.
