The Wan Hai Lines and Interasia Lines-led India-China II (CI2) route has resumed calls at India's east coast main gateway VO Chidambaranar (VOC) after a direct stop was suspended a year ago due to frequency reliability issues.

The CI2 route uses 6 ships per week for a 30-day round trip. The expanded full rotation is Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Port Kbasang (North), Cochin, Navasheva (JNPT), East India Company, Port Kbasang (North), returning to Qingdao.

The port shows: "The weekly service is conducive to the hinterland from [VOC] directly to the Far East and Chinese ports."

VOC currently has two container terminals, PSA Sical and Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT)-the latter is a joint venture between Bollore Africa Logistics and Indian partners (JV).

VOC is the second busiest container handler on India's east coast. It saw about 780,000 TEUs in fiscal year 2021-22 and 338,000 TEUs from April to August in fiscal year 2021-23. Data show that among 780,000 standard boxes, DBGT contributed about 600,000 standard boxes.

's Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal(DBGT) at the Indian VOC port handles most of the port's cargo. DBGT began operations in 2014, leading the transaction volume through VOC; it handled 39,474 TEU of the port's 53,121 TEU last month.
