last-mile technology supplier OneRail received $33 million in financing Wednesday from venture capital firms to take advantage of increased demand for last-mile coordination in the retail, healthcare, construction and third-party logistics sectors.

OneRail is a transportation visualization solution provider based in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 2018, it has established contacts with 10 million drivers in more than 330 cities in the United States. This pool covers everything from crowdsourcing private cars to commercial truck fleets. In addition to providing rating, visibility, order and mode optimization tools, the company also maintains direct contracts with regional and national express company networks.

The round of financing brought the total investment of OneRail to US $54 million, led by Piva Capital and Arsenal Growth Equity, Trimble Ventures, ATD and existing investor Ironspring Ventures, Las Olas Venture Capital, Bullpen Capital, Triphammer Ventures/Alumni Ventures Group, Gaingels and Mana Ventures to follow suit.

Under the leadership of CEO and founder Bill Catania, OneRail is the last mile transportation visualization solution. It has a real-time connection network of 10 million drivers and can find the right vehicles for the correct delivery, so shippers can get low prices and greater capabilities to quickly expand their business. OneRail provide a last-mile delivery experience in retail, CPG, distribution, construction, healthcare, and more.

Bill Catania, chief executive of OneRail, said Last Mile Technology was more geared toward engineering than sales and offered new money to support growth in sales and marketing efforts.

The company intends to use this fund to develop a large number of new data-driven platform functions, focusing on improving the reliability, affordability and sustainability of last-mile logistics, and expanding its sales, marketing and solution engineering teams.

Generally speaking, the decision to cooperate with OneRail is often driven by people in the supply chain management role, not necessarily transportation and logistics. Catania said that's because the company has realized that the last mile is more in line with the customer experience than the first and middle mile freight model, so it involves areas such as marketing and customer service.
