On March 29, Qingdao Port International Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Qingdao Port) released its 2022 annual report.

In 2022, Qingdao Port achieved operating income of 19.263 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.71; realized net profit of 4.525 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.63; completed cargo throughput of 0.627 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%, of which container throughput 26.82 million TEU, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%.

Throughput and operating results both achieved double-digit growth.


Qingdao Port said that 2022 is a very difficult year, the century-old changes and the century epidemic superimposed on each other, a variety of unexpected factors on the industry development, social development has a great impact. Under multiple pressures, Qingdao Port's performance was red and bright.

Ministry of Transport statistics show that in 2022, Qingdao port cargo throughput and container throughput, both remained in China's coastal ports fourth, foreign trade cargo throughput ranked first in China's northern ports.


Looking forward to 2023, Qingdao Port will continue to rely on Shandong Port's integrated reform and integrated development advantages, adhere to the overall goal of "performance is king", focus on the main business, open up markets, highlight innovation, upgrade business formats, and make every effort to build a Northeast Asia international shipping hub. Specifically, Qingdao Port will focus on the following key directions.

First, focus on the main business of loading and unloading, and steadily improve development sustainability.

In terms of container cargo, we will continue to improve operational capacity and operational efficiency, strive for shipping companies to open more routes, expand international transit, realize domestic trade increment, improve empty container turnover rate, and promote stable increment of sea-rail combined transportation and other businesses.

In the dry bulk cargo, consolidate the hinterland supply, relying on the "river-sea combined transport" to expand the Yangtze River iron ore water supply, expand the northeast market, continue to consolidate the pulp and other bone dry goods species advantage.

In liquid bulk cargo, to stabilize refineries and traders and other customer supply volume, to expand Hebei, Jiangsu and other Shandong Province outside the market, to compete for Japan and South Korea port water transfer business, to consolidate the north's largest oil foreign trade port position.


Second, focus on emerging formats and steadily enhance development competitiveness.

vigorously develop port-adjacent industries, promote the construction of industrial parks such as mineral processing and grain processing, and form the agglomeration effect of advantageous industries. Struggle for new ore varieties and mixed mining business landing, seize the large-scale mines to carry out iron ore RMB spot trade opportunity, to achieve incremental development. We will make every effort to tackle new business formats such as ship oil supply, bonded crude oil and fuel oil futures, and bonded crude oil reserves, give full play to the advantages of direct pipeline transportation, and enhance the dual supply capacity of the oil business of "pipeline transportation and water transfer transportation".

Third, focus on wisdom and green, and steadily enhance development influence.

Promote the research and development of national key projects, build a port industry Internet platform, and build system integration capabilities.
