Recently, EFL Global, the world's 29th air freight forwarder and 40th sea freight forwarder, announced that it had acquired Canada's largest freight forwarder, Locher Evers International(LEI).

It is understood that LEI is a long-established Canadian family logistics company with more than 47 years of experience, providing a full range of logistics services, including air, sea, customs agency, rail services, warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, domestic trucking and towing.

EFL said in the announcement: The acquisition of LEI expands EFL Global's footprint in the Canadian market and strengthens its ability to provide end-to-end logistics solutions to customers in various industries. By combining LEI's expertise with EFL Global's resources and technology, customers can expect to benefit from enhanced service offerings, increased efficiency and greater flexibility.

"We are pleased to welcome LEI to the EFL family and look forward to working with us to provide our customers with superior logistics solutions," EFL COO Executive Vice President Bill Wilkening said. "This acquisition is our growth strategy. An important milestone, we are committed to investing in the Canadian market and expanding our global presence."

LEI Managing Director Chris Locher said: "We are pleased to join the EFL global family, which strengthens our ability to compete in a changing market and allows us to provide our valued customers with more in-house services."

LEI's acquisition is effective immediately from the date of the announcement and the company will operate as a subsidiary of EFL Global. LEI's management team and employees will maintain their current roles, ensuring a seamless customer and supplier transition.

About the LEI

Locher Evers International(LEI) was founded in 1976 and has grown into one of Canada's largest freight forwarding companies, with offices in several countries.

LEI provides freight forwarding, air and sea assembly, customs clearance, cargo insurance, distribution and other value-added logistics services. This flexible range of services is supported by leading-edge tracking technology that provides a high level of point A to point B visibility.

The management philosophy of the LEI has always been to manage all of its customers' logistics needs in-house by minimizing reliance on third-party operators. By owning and operating its own equipment and assets, LEI retains more control over customer shipments from point A to point B. This reduces the need to deal with multiple companies, thereby improving accuracy and responsiveness, while shielding customers from operational challenges such as rate increases and labor disputes.
