Universal standard time on September 6 02:35, a ship named "LIBERTAS-H" of the container ship in Greece Kefaniya Island (Kefalonia) south of about 2 nautical miles and cargo ship SEA LEADER ship collided.

The container ship's LIBERTAS-H ship was from the Greek port of Piraeus (Piraeus) to the Albanian port of Durres (Durres), and the freighter SEA LEADER was from the Piraeus port (Piraeus) to the Turkish port of Aliaga (Aliaga).
