Taiping Shipping (PIL) recently announced that it will launch a new Korea-China Strait Weekly Direct Route (KCS), which connects South Korea, China, Malacca Strait and Vietnam's major ports. It will start its maiden voyage from Busan, South Korea on July 6, 2023. Taiping Shipping and its partners will jointly deploy a group of ships with an average capacity of 1800-2200TEU to provide services.

Surendran Mathilagath, General Manager of Pacific Shipping Asia, said: "The launch of the KCS route is one of Pacific Shipping's efforts to continuously expand its Asian route service network and provide customers with quality services. The biggest advantage of this route lies in the wide coverage of a single route, connecting 9 major ports in South Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, which enables us to provide customers with efficient transportation services and more attractive prices. At the same time, it will further promote the links between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia's customers and the rest of the world, in line with Taiping Shipping's vision of interoperability and its commitment to provide value-added services to meet market demand."
