In order to adapt to the container market further normalization, liner companies are looking for alliance outside the ship sharing partners.

In fact, the "Ocean Alliance" (OCEAN ALLIANCE) member COSCO Ocean Control (COSCO Shipping Container Lines, OOOCL) will work with THE Alliance member Japan Ocean Network Shipping (ONE) to launch the European and South American East Week service.

Specifically, on July 12, COSCO, OOCL and ONE announced the launch of new routes called ESE2/EEX/LUX respectively. The first flight will be started by COSCO's "XIN NAN TONG" (built in 2003, 5051TEU) and is expected to arrive in Montevideo around September 16.

Port sequence: Rotterdam-London Gateway Port-Hamburg-Antwerp-Lisbon-Algeciras-Santos-Paranagua-Montevideo-Buenos Aires-Itapoa-Paranagua-Santos-Rio de Janeiro-Algeciras-Rotterdam

COSCO Sea Control said that the ESE2 route has achieved full coverage of the eastern region of South America, more effectively radiating Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and other markets. The port not only includes important ports such as Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Paranagua and Itapoa, but also realizes the river bed in the relevant areas. The new ESE2 route in Europe, South America and East America provides stable weekly service. Whether it is from South America east to Northwest Europe northbound (the delivery time from Santos to Rotterdam is 18 days) or from Northwest Europe to South America southeast (the delivery time from Rotterdam to Santos is 26 days), the ESE2 route is in the leading position in the market. With rich trunk line branch line network and supply chain products, it will serve and radiate the main economic regions in South America and east, so as to provide more rapid and convenient logistics service support guarantee for the development of our customers.

The opening of this route in is another manifestation of the "customer-centric" concept of COSCO's dual brands. In the future operation, with faster delivery time, stable schedule and wide coverage, to create a more competitive brand service, become the majority of customers on the road of long-term development of trusted partners.

OOCL said it launched a new route, the Europe-South America East Coast Express (EEX), to further strengthen OOCL's network coverage in Latin America. The EEX will provide direct shipping between Europe and the Brazil/La Plata River. In order to meet the demand for refrigerated containers from the east coast of South America to Europe, the new route provides an attractive flight time from Rio de Janeiro to Rotterdam in just 16 days.

"South America has always been of strategic importance to ONE's global network," said Yu Kurimoto, managing director of ONE." He added that the launch of the LUX route represents "an important step in meeting the needs of customers in this important region".

ONE said that the new LUX route is ONE's first direct service connecting Europe, the Mediterranean and South America East. Designed to offer competitive service and schedule options from the east coast of South America to the Mediterranean and Europe, the new routes offer attractive northbound transit times, especially for refrigerated cargo. It is also the only direct route on the market from Lisbon to the east coast of South America.
