According to foreign media reports: recently, the world's third largest shipping company to fly (CMA CGM) announced: will integrate its 250-year-old shipping brand Containerships.
This means that this has 34 ships, with 250 years of history of the European famous shipping brand, completely disappeared in the industry's sight!
Dafei official notice said: from July 1, 2023, Containerships will become a part of CMA CGM, no longer Containerships brand independent operation, Containerships hull logo will be replaced by CMA CGM.
Dafei also pointed out: "the Containerships in the expansion of Dafei group multimodal transport solutions played a key role, by the Containerships integration to the company's products, the group obtained Containerships to provide a wide range of maritime, road, rail and inland water solutions."
"With better digital tools, broader CMA shipping services and broader European internal business, our customer and business partner experience will be enhanced."

Containerships's history
In 1770, the then 18-year-old Scot William MacAndrew in London and Liverpool set up offices, began from Spain and Portugal to import fruit.
In 1857, the first MacAndrew steamship, the 315-ton Acor, was built in Glasgow.
In 1859, William's son Robert embarked on a large-scale expansion plan, opening MacAndrew & Co offices throughout Spain, and building and acquiring new ships registered in Spain. A total of 27 new ships were signed, most of which were 600-700 gross tons.
In 1882, the August Schultze founded the OPDR and began shipping glass to Portugal and cork to Germany.
In 1910, OPDR received a German Imperial mail transport license, while adding a new service linking the Canary Islands.
By 1915, OPDR had 16 ships operating between Hamburg, Antwerp, Morocco and the Canary Islands.
In 1945, as a result of the war, both the MacAndrews and OPDR suffered heavy losses; by the end of the war, all OPDR ships were either lost or confiscated by the Allies.
In 1959, the invention of the modern container made Containerships the world's first in the Finnish Turku and British Felicstow between the operation of short-haul dedicated container shipping lines.
In 2003, Dafei Steamship acquired MacAndrews.
In 2014, OPDR also joined Dafei Group. Later that year, Containerships launched its first all-LNG-powered container ship, the mv Containerships Polar.
In 2018, OPDR and MacAndrews merged to form MacAndrews, becoming Europe's intra-short-haul shipping giant.
The same year on October 22, the European Commission approved the Dafei ships and Containerships mergers and acquisitions, Containerships became Dafei Group part.
In April 2019, two European intra-intermodal logistics experts-Containerships and MacAndrews-joined together to form a brand Containerships, creating the region's largest pan-European network and integrated services.
In 2023, Dafei announced the integration of Containerships brands, Containerships brands completely out of the market.
